For summer learning Journey today we had to recolour a NASA earth pitcher And here is a fact.The first person to propose the idea of using a rocket to launch a human into space was Scottish astronomer William Leitch in 1861. Here is my work. 

Te Whare Tapa Wha

 This year we have been learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and how it helps us. We made a slide to show the things we do to help us for each part. We need to keep all parts of our whare strong to be happy, healthy and safe.

Term 4 Basic Facts

We enjoy practising our basic facts each day using Prototec.  We also try and beat the clock on paper throughout the year.  Here is my Term 4 results.  I am proud of betting my time.

Pet Day - Learn Create Share.

 Last week we had Pet Day at school.  As part of our reading and writing  we got to get creative to show  what we know about looking after animals.  Here is the work I created.  I worked with Bailey, Bella and Nerali.  I enjoyed making the movie.  I think what I created will be useful for showing people to be nice to animals.

Sprite Parallax

We are really good at creating sprites using google draw.  For the past 2 weeks we have been learning how to make our sprites eyes or facial features move separate to their bodies.  This is called a parallax.  Here is an example I have made and the code that makes it work.  The bit I liked most was learning about scratch. Now I want to add more characters.

Caving and Glow worms work

 We learned lots when we were on our camp and wanted to share these with Team Maunga before they go on their trip.  For reading and writing we have been busy creating things to help Team Maunga.  Here is my work on caving and glow worms.

Thank you Letter

 A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to KawaKawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.

Vaseline Saucer

 

For pet day 2021 we created Vaseline Saucers.  We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns.  Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work.  Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

Pet Day - Virtual Calf Entry 2021

Here is my virtual calf entry.  I got first place for this.  I also got the LIC Champion Calf/Large animal prize.  The judge said that I was good at leading and covered all the things we were asked to on the entry form.  I hope you enjoy.

Using a Writing Rubric.

 This week in writing we have been looking at recounts and how we can improve our writing.  We started looking at our writing rubrics and understanding how to find what level pieces of writing are.

Greats and Grands

 Today was meant to be Greats and Grands day at our school.  This has been cancelled for this year due to COVID-19.  We wanted to still share some writing about our amazing grandparents.  Here is my work.
