My name is Fiona and I'm from the Summer Learning Journey. I am so impressed by how you have created your very own amazing Summer Learning Journey activity all about native birds - ka pai! What inspired you to create this activity? I hope you will make more of these if you have time!
Your activity got me thinking about all the native birds that I miss seeing in Australia. Where I grew up, there were lots of noisy cockatoos, colourful rosellas and even the odd emu in the bush! Now I live in Auckland and I am surrounded by cheeky pukeko that steal my vegetables!
My favourite native bird in NZ is the tui. Unfortunately I couldn't click the link to read the narrative you wrote about your favourite native bird or the bird picnic link. Let me know in the comments if the links are updated so I can take a look!
I think I have fixed it. I was inspired to create this because we went out Kiwi watching when we stayed at the beach, and I can hear kiwi at home too. I also wanted to do something different and new.
Thank you so much - I can see your native bird story and your bird picnic file now! WOW - these are fantastic examples! How cool that you can hear kiwi at home.
I am going to have a go at completing your native bird task now.
