My Kowhaiwhai

Here is my Kowhaiwhai. I made my Kowhaiwhai with the koru and put it in different places. I put little and big ones in. I wanted a heart so I joined two koru's together.  I went paddle boarding in the morning so     that `s  how I got my background.

I love your kowhaiwhai, especially your heart made up of the koru. It looks like you had nice weather there this morning, did you see any wildlife?

  2. Tēnā koe Nakita, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey.

Wow, you have done a great job on your kowhaiwhai pattern - well done!

I really like that you have made a heart out of koru and made your pattern so symmetrical! It is great fun to look at. I really like that you’ve included a photo as your background as well, because it has lots of natural colours that make your kowhaiwhai stand out!

Thank you for also explaining how you made your pattern and what your creative thinking was along the way! This inspires and teaches others how to make their own. It’s so cool that you got to go paddle boarding. Do you go paddle boarding often? It would be a great way to cool down on a hot summer's day!

Ngā mihi nui and keep up the awesome blogging! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts.

    1. Hi Elle, thanks for the comment. I go paddle boarding when ever I can. I like paddle boarding because when we go in the shallow water in the waves I jump off. I went with my mum.

  3. Hello Nakita,
It is Kayla from Ohaeawai School. What a cool Kowhaiwhai! Amazing job! Maybe next time you could say what your Kowhaiwhai represents. How long did it take you? What beach are you at? It looks like you were having lots of fun!

    Happy holidays!

    1. Hi Kayla. Thanks for the comment. Thanks for the advice for next time. It took me quite a while to do but mum showed me how I could group things together to make it easier. We were at Taupo bay because my brothers were at surf school. We did have a lot of fun.

  4. Hi Nikita,
My name is Maddison, I am a Year 6 Student from Waikowhai Primary School.
The part that stood out for me was the heart in the middle. I also like how you made some of the koru different sizes. Using your photo as your background was a great idea.
How long have you been paddle boarding for? I have only used a paddle board a couple of times.
    Keep up the awesome blogging.
