Optical Illusion

Here is my Optical illusion.  I did it a while ago but forgot to put it on my blog.  I watched a video to show me how to make this hand one and at the end I had smudge the pencil in to make it look more like it was popping out.  My brother helped me and he did one himself.  That day we went to town and saw one on the wall as well.  It was really cool because it had a hammer trying to hit a little door.  It was cool seeing it.

  1. Kia ora Nakita, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey again!

Thank you for having a go at the optical illusion activity! I really like that you've provided such an awesome explanation on how you made it.

Unfortunately the images that you have added aren't visible on your blog, would you like to have another go at uploading them so we can all see your optical illusions?

Good luck and I'll check back soon to see how you're getting on!

    Mā te wā,

    1. Kia ora Nakita,

Thank you for reuploading your images, I can see them now!

You have done a great job on your optical illusion! I really like that you’ve drawn a hand, by hand, and had a go at such a unique design! Your hand looks very 3D, like it’s popping out of the paper.

You have done a great job with the shading as well - good idea smudging the pencil! What did you use to smudge it? I used to use my finger to smudge the pencil in my drawings, but my friend, who is an artist, taught me how to use a cotton bud (q-tip) to smudge it instead, so I don’t get pencil all over my hands!

I think that it’s so cool that you included a photo of an optical illusion you’ve seen in real life. I’ve never seen an optical illusion that big before, so thank you for sharing! I think my favourite part about it is that they’re managed to make a flat wall look like a 3D room. What is your favourite part?

Well done and keep up the great work Nakita!

      Ngā mihi,
      Elle (SLJ)

  3. Hi Elle. I smudge it with my finger, maybe I could try what your friend does with the cotton bud. My favourite part was how the hammer hits the little door.
